イスラーム政権下のエジプトにおける、コプト教会に属する人々について研究している。西アジアにありながらムスリム社会ではなく、ヨーロッパとも異なるキリスト教文化を有する人々について研究しているわけであるが、彼らを通して見えてくる世界を描くべく、模索中である。

Asuka TSUJI is a JSPS Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Institute of Advanced Studies on Asia, the University of Tokyo. She received her PhD degree from the University of Tokyo in 2014.
Her studies are about the history of the Christians in the Middle East, especially those belonging to the Coptic Church in Egypt. She is currently interested in the social and political dynamics surrounding these people, which (hopefully) will enable us to understand the complexity of the Middle East, and not think of them as minorities in the Islamicate dynasties.
