TAKEDA Izumi specialises in eighteenth-century textile industry of Ireland and England.
Through investigating the names and features of textiles, she has been interested in transcending (or blurring) the boundaries of different fibers.
Her current objective is to reveal the veiled links between and among different textile producing areas by looking at the consumer markets as crucial nods connecting various textile industries. She is working on a joint project named "Linking Cloth-Clothing Globally".
She obtained her PhD degree in economics from the University of Tokyo in 2010.
