「農村開発/政策の長期的なインパクトとはなにか」という関心のもと、スリランカを事例にして農村と都市との関係がどのように変容してきたのか、歴史的に見直す研究をしています。 現在、東京大学公共政策大学院博士後期課程に在籍。 2014年、東京大学公共政策大学院公共政策学修士号取得後、東洋文化研究所特任研究員。2015年信州大学研究員、2016年笹川平和財団シニアリサーチャー。 大学院入学以前は、日本の政府開発援助事業(ODA)でベトナム、スリランカ、アフガニスタンなどで働いていました。
Rei ASADA is a Ph.D. candidate in the Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Tokyo. Her research interests include the history of rural development policy and its long-term impact on both in rural and urban areas in Sri Lanka. She has a B.A. in Anthropology and Sociology from Japan Women’s University and has a M.A. in Public Policy from the University of Tokyo, where she conducted the research on rural revitalization policy in Japan’s rural areas. In 2016, she worked as a senior researcher at Sasakawa Peace Foundation and contributed to study “Aging Society in Southeast Asia” as a core member of the joint research project. She also conduced her own research in Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia as a project researcher. Before she started her career in academia, she worked on foreign aid projects in Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan for years. She is good at cooking Sri Lankan curry and loves dogs.
