現在の研究テーマは、西アフリカ・サバンナ地域を対象にした農村経済・家計の近現代史。人口の動態や経済環境の変化から農村部における家族の経済関係の変容をみていくことで、これまでの当該地域における開発支援政策論を再検討することに関心を寄せている。カリフォルニア大学バークレー校政治学部卒（2001年）、青年海外協力隊員としてブルキナファソで活動（2003年～2005年）、東京大学大学院農学生命科学研究科で博士号取得（2015年）。 主な論文としては Tomomatsu, Y. 2014. Her current study is on the past century’s transformation of rural and household economy in the West African savanna region. She is particularly interested in bridging the historical study analysis to development policy discussions. She received B.A. in Political Science at UC Berkeley, and Ph.D. from Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences at The University of Tokyo. Her recent publication includes Tomomatsu,Y. 2014.
