専門はスペイン・バスク商業史で、バスク商人の貿易活動について研究をしています。バスクが経済的に繁栄できた理由と、戦時期である18世紀後半にどのように帝国を超えた貿易が行われたのか、彼らの貿易活動がスペインや大西洋世界にどのような影響を与えたのかを解明したいと考えており、現在は七年戦争からアメリカ独立戦争までの、ビルバオと北米植民地との貿易や商人ネットワークを研究対象としています。大阪経済大学経済学部経済学科卒業（2015年）、大阪大学文学研究科西洋史学専門分野博士前期課程修了（2017年）、同博士後期課程在学中。日本学術振興会特別研究員（2017-2019年度）。

TAKAGAKI Rie is a Ph.D. student in Department of Occidental History at Graduate School of Letters, Osaka University. She is a research fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (2017-2019). She acquired B.A. in Economics in 2015 at Osaka University of Economics and completed M.A. in Occidental History (European and American History) in 2017 at Osaka University. Major interest is the commercial history of the Spanish-Basque merchant. Currently, she researches about merchant network and trade between Bilbao and colonial North America.
