LEE Ju-Ling received her Ph. D in 2014 from University of Lyon (Title of the dissertation: "Nudity on Image: Power and the Representations of the Body in Taiwan (1895-1987)"). She is interested in body's representative function in colonial societies. As Postdoctoral Research Fellow of the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) at the Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia (The University of Tokyo), she now works on the role of the representation of the body in constructing Japanese colonialism and the transformation of Japanese colonizer's identity in the encounter with other cultures.
