Japanese political history at the Faculty of Law and Politics, Rikkyo University / Professor

立教大学法学部教授(日本政治史)。博士(法学、東京大学、1994年)。東京大学法学部附属近代日本法政史料センター助教授、北海道大学大学院法学研究科教授などを経て、2012年より現職。台湾中央研究院近代史研究所、英国LSEにおいて在外研究を行った。
日中戦争、近代日本の財界形成、アジア主義について研究してきたが、現在は戦後日本の財界と政治についての研究を進めると共に、グローバル・ヒストリーの中で近現代日本を考える作業を行っている。

MATSUURA Masataka is Professor of Japanese political history at the Faculty of Law and Politics, Rikkyo University, Japan. He gained his PhD in law at the University of Tokyo in 1994. He came to his current post in 2012 after serving as assistant professor at the Center for Modern Japanese Legal and Political Documents of the Faculty of Law at The University of Tokyo and as professor of the Graduate School of Law at Hokkaido University. He has also conducted overseas research at the Institute of Modern History at the Academia Sinica, Taiwan, and at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the United Kingdom. While past research interests have included the Sino-Japanese War, the formation of the business world of modern Japan, and Pan-Asianism, he is currently doing research into the business world and politics of post-war Japan as well as conducting studies on modern and contemporary Japan in global history.
