Qiuyuan Huang received his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Tsinghua University. After he finished his master’s study at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tokyo, he is now continuing his doctoral study at the Graduate School of Inter-disciplinary Information Studies at the same university. For his master’s thesis, he focused on the representation of urban space of modern Japanese cities and conducted a case study on guidebooks of Tokyo. Currently, he is researching on the production of spatial knowledge in colonies of the Japanese empire.
